“With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.” Isaiah 26:9 KJV
There is no fear of God in our land. Judgements are far from the minds of our people. Unbelief is acceptable; sin does not exist; the call to repentance is blasphemy.
The common belief is that righteousness was given once the invitation was accepted and no matter what you say or do, you are good. No loving god would require you to suffer, because Jesus did it all. All of society; world and church; do not see punishments for wrongs committed, so repercussions are illusions; threats without substance. Violence is such a way of life, we are not even shocked by atrocities perpetrated by our neighbors. "You just never know", is the common thought. We have become numb.
Adversity turns people to God. There are no atheists in foxholes. When catastrophe strikes all cry out to God, "save us O Lord!" Repentance is made, but soon forgotten when the danger is passed. We are a sorry lot, yet all think they are okay; deceived as prophesied.
Yet, while there is breath there is time for repentance. Pray God opens our eyes, opens our ears, changes our hearts back to Him.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.” Isaiah 26:3-5 KJV
We must pray for mercy.
We must repent.
For the time of reckoning is nigh upon us.
“Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.”
Isaiah 26:20-21 KJV
Even so - MARANATHA!
