I Call Heaven

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days:” ‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:19-20‬a KJV‬‬

“He is thy life” resonated within me this morning as I read the above verses!

Oh, so true, if you love Him with your whole heart!

New mothers and fathers are always amazed at the love they have for their newborn! They post all over Facebook their undying love! You see memes saying I love my son/daughter with my “whole” heart!

The devil knows how that wounds the heart of The Father, for He must be above all! But how many churchgoers can say that “He” is my life?

If He is not your everything; He is nothing.

That does not mean you don’t love anyone else, it means you love Him above all else!  Actually loving Him enables you to love others better, for He reciprocates by pouring His love into you! Then you are able to love with His love; the only way you can love the unlovable!

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

His is perfect love! When we love like Him, we have no fear! Carnal Love is full of fear; fear of rejection, fear of commitment; fear of failure.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

His promise: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

His love is to die for!
He showed us how!
He died for us!

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Is He your life?

Examine your heart! Ask yourself how much you love Him?

If you do not love Him with your WHOLE heart then He is not your LORD!  He cannot be something you love; He has to be your everything!

“And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.” ‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Ask Him to circumcise your heart, so that you may love Him and live!

Father, please forgive me for loving anything/anyone in this world more than You! I repent for not loving You best! Thank You LORD for Your love! Please pour it out in me so that I may love like You do! In Jesus name I pray!

This I Say

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Not fulfilling the “lust of the flesh” is the hardest when you feel you have been wronged by a friend or loved one. Our natural instinct is to defend and retaliate. Our anger rises and we lash out with little regard of consequences. Killing that defense mechanism is difficult but necessary for a successful Christian walk. Jesus didn’t and we must not either. (See Romans 8)

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:19-21‬ ‭KJV

When we read the above verse we have a tendancy to focus on the “ones” we DON’T do! Not the ones we do do; which is why they are there! Correction is hard; justification easy! Upon examination of definitions, we find we are all guilty, or have been at one time, of the above failings! We have all been adulterous against God, loving the world more than Him. We have all been into witchcraft, as we all have been rebellious to Him; living in disobedience to His Word. We may not murder anyone but willingly assassinate another’s character. Spirits of hatred, wrath, and strife are standing there ready to defend a supposed or actual wrong, to cause a believer to sin!

Which is why Paul, led by The Holy Spirit wrote the following verses:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Longsuffering is an attribute of God and one we must acquire! We are thankful that He is “slow to anger”. We have no choice but to learn
self-restraint when we are stirred to anger, if we are to follow Jesus! We are not allowed to respond like the world! Jesus did not retaliate, nor even speak in his own defense when he was beaten for our iniquities!

Our natural inclination is to come back with our own accusations, justifying our actions. Believers must take captive the thoughts the enemy puts in our mind, knowing he is determined to cause division among the brethren! He comes to “kill, steal and destroy” relationships, friendships, marriages, families, and congregations! He leaves destruction in his wake.  BUT what the enemy means for evil, God means for good!

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we refuse to forgive a wrong done to us - the sins that have been forgiven us, are added back and we become unforgiven, once again! In other words we lose our salvation! (Matthew 18:23-35) it doesn’t matter how big or small the deed! We are commanded to forgive! We have no other option if we will walk with Christ!

Unforgiveness is the test that most young Christians fail. Hurt feelings is the enemy’s first and most effective ploy in causing a backslidden state.

Repent while there is still time!

Father please shine Your light in the darkness in our hearts, and expose the unforgiveness lurking there! Bring us to repentance. In Jesus’ name we pray!

Thus Saith

“Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.” Jeremiah‬ ‭23:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The anger of the Lord shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.” Jeremiah‬ ‭23:20-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.”

Read it again!

“But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.”

If your favorite preacher is not preaching repentance of sin, then he is NOT preaching the Word of God! If he is not pointing you to the cross and telling you that it will cost you to be a Follower of Jesus, then he is preaching a different gospel!

“Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain:”

vain
adjective
  1. 1
having or showing an excessively high opinion of one's appearance, abilities, or worth.

    ineffectiveineffectualinefficaciousimpotentunavailing, to no avail, fruitlessprofitlessunrewardingunproductiveunsuccessfulfailedabortive, for nothing;
    thwarted, frustrated, foiled;

Proud, self-loving, immodest, useless, hopeless, fruitless; words which describe many who attend church these latter days! When God really gets a hold of you there is a change; you must conform to the image of Christ!

“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If your church is observing and celebrating signs and wonders, but NOT preaching repentance of sin, then it is not from The LORD!

As in days of old, when The Lord shows up NO ONE can stand before Him! Fear and trembling are present in His presence! There is no laughter, but much tears! One is greatly aware of how “undone” he is! (Isaiah 6:5)

“So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.” 2 Chronicles‬ ‭5:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Beware you who are seeking the LORD without a willingness to humble yourself! He will humble you!

“For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Luke‬ ‭14:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do not seek the sign!

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord.” Jeremiah‬ ‭23:30-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If He is against the prophets that speak lies, He will also be against those who willingly listen and believe.

“Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee.” ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭22:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Father I pray: LORD open our eyes, that we may not be deceived!
Change our hearts and bring us to repentance! Forgive our lukewarmness and our self-centeredness! Turn us back to You LORD, that we may follow You - all of our days - in all of Your ways!

Humble yourself and repent!

I Have Not

“I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.” Jeremiah‬ ‭23:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The message of repentance has been lost in the church! No longer do the leaders point people to a cross and tell them they must die to self! No longer do the pulpits call to a "sinner" because no one believes he sins! They are all "saved by grace" and when they "accepted an invitation" they took care of their final destination "once and for all!"

Repentance is a turning away from sin; a change of direction and a change in lifestyle! And it is a daily choice! Many start the race well but the distractions of the world cause sin to creep back in! Because what constitutes "sin" is no longer preached the people accept sin as the norm! No one knows that fear, worry, unbelief, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, judgement (to name a few) are sins! Because "everyone" does it, it must be okay! Because of acceptance there is no need for repentance! "God made me that way" is the attitude, so I'm good!

Today, what a sinner hid behind closed doors 50 years ago, and did under the cover of darkness, is proudly paraded at mid-day! The sins not seen, but hidden in the heart, are far worse! The former not caring who sees, the latter denying God's power to see!

“Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭23:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The judgement of The Lord is at hand and we have whole denominations deceived; believing they will be spared His fury, while true believers die everyday, in other parts of the world, because they follow The Lord Jesus Christ! Beheadings and crucifixions are no longer newsworthy, they are so frequent! And the church here, with her head buried in the sand waits to be raptured! Such audacity! ‬‬

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The anger of the Lord shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.” Jeremiah‬ ‭23:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are seeing (and will continue to see) the anger of The LORD!

Repent!

Business as usual is a thing of the past, for our days are numbered! Turn from your wicked ways while there is still time!

For The Time

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." 2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭3-4‬ KJV

Reading the following verse in psalms this morning, I am reminded of the above verse!

"Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm." Psalms‬ ‭105‬:‭15‬ KJV

It is no new thing for a man called of God to fall away in sin, yet David still considered Saul, God's anointed, as we see in the verse below.

"And he said unto his men, The Lord forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the Lord's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord." ‭1 Samuel‬ ‭24‬:‭6‬ KJV

Should we not also give mercy to those in the ministry who seem to now be walking on the broad path, instead of the narrow way?

There may come a time when we need mercy.

“For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Matthew‬ ‭7:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Because of unrepented sin in Saul's heart, he died in torment.

We must all examine our hearts to make sure that we too, do not allow the enemy a foothold in our life! We must deal with the unforgiveness, bitterness, worry, fear, judgements, gossip, pride and unbelief; the baggage we have carried since childhood, to weigh us down.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is very easy to judge other ministries.

As the days go by, more and more will be snared with the lure of success. And as the end nears and persecution increases for followers of Jesus, the pressure to compromise or be shut down, will cause many more to fall. It's hard to stand when you are on top and carrying a large mortgage.

Instead of accusing, degrading and railing against those who have deviated from sound doctrine, pray for them and those who follow them.

Remember this is a spiritual war, with the powers of darkness. God knows what's going on and it has been prophesied since days of old. Only He can open their eyes and call them out! It's part of the separation of sheep and goats and even the sheep from the sheep!

Mercy is called for today and sound teaching; a call to repentance of sin!

Very soon, it's going to get real rough here, to be a follower of Jesus! Let's keep our focus on The One Who walked the narrow way before us!

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”‭‭ Matthew‬ ‭5:7-12‬ ‭KJV

Trust Issues

Trust issues are at the root of questioning God!

If you worry and are in doubt and unbelief whether God can, or is able to perform on your behalf, maybe you worship another god.

Maybe your god is made in your own image; what your idea of who god should be; who you hope he is! A god who gives and gives but never requires! One who will be there to bless but never curse! One who will bail you out and then leave you alone, till the next time you have need of him!

One who does not exist!

“Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.” ‭‭Job‬ ‭15:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If it has no power, then maybe it is an idol! You see an idol is something you put above God! It doesn't have to be made of wood or stone! All it has to do is be something you worship that is not God! A wise person once said, "at the center of your storm, you will find your idol!"

“But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The more you get to know God, the less questions you have for Him!

The devil, in his quest to become god, questioned everything about God, thinking in his heart he could do it better!  “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
His heart was raised up and he pitted himself against God!

One who is submitted to God; one who serves The Almighty, Creator of the universe, Maker of all things, knows his place and is happy to let God be God!

“For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.” Psalms‬ ‭135:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I personally would not want His job! The more I learn His attributes, the greater understanding I have of how little I know!

“But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭23:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He alone is in control, and my peace comes from knowing everything is in His more than capable hands!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When I came to the realization that my need for control was a sin and that it accused God of not being capable of taking care of my needs, I was overwhelmed with shame! I had to repent and seek forgiveness for calling God a liar and not trusting Him! When I fully submitted, I received the "peace that passes all understanding!" But I had to let it go; hands totally off! I cast down my idol, to lift Him up; where He belongs!

He is God, and I am not!

I just rest!

THAT makes me happy!

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭KJV

Mercy Unto You

“Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.” Jude‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Wow Jude - does not mince words! What begins with a blessing, quickly becomes an Epistle most churches these days would not read, much less preach!

Sadly, his words are fulfilled today!

“But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.” Jude‬ ‭1:17-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He describes those "mockers":
“These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.” Jude‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.” ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are warned repeatedly throughout the New Testament of those that are not only lured off the narrow path, but who also try and pull others with them!

How do we know?
We are given clues, but are we looking? Their teachings sound so true and convincing!

Some even announce they "earnestly contend for the faith!" (Jude 1:3)

How do we know?

It's always about fruit! That is key!

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬a ‭KJV‬‬

Fruit can't be faked (for long) for whatever is in their heart will come out! They have to live it!

If you are not being exhorted to put to death the deeds of the flesh; die to self; be a servant; repent of your sins; AND you do not see the leaders doing the same then you need to find another fellowship!

“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You will not be able to discern the error if you are not following closely the teachings of Jesus, because the lies they preach are 98% truth! What to watch for though is repentance of sin, and I'm not talking just the "biggies!" The church at large scoffs at the teaching of holiness but we are called to be holy!

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Holy is not bestowed! Holy is a choice, and that choice is repentance; you deal with the sin that you have held onto so dearly! The unforgiveness, the judgments, the bitterness that is hiding in your heart, has got to go! Worry, fear, anger, grumbling and complaining; acceptable sins in the church; unacceptable in the eyes The LORD!

“I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Jude‬ ‭1:5-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God does not "wink" at sin!

He sent His Son to pay for our crimes, so that we could be pardoned and then we act like its no big deal, "cause Jesus did it all", we can go ahead and live for the pleasures of this world and satisfy the lusts of our flesh!

God watched His Son suffer and die in our place!

Would you sacrifice your child for a murderer! Rapist? Adulterer? A homosexual? Drug addict? An alcoholic?

When will we get it?

IT'S NOT ABOUT US!

IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM!

Yes, God LOVED us! But Jesus LOVED The Father! He was obedient unto death and we are supposed to be like Jesus!

If we are fully surrendered; if Jesus is our principal purpose then we will be like "the woman!" We will willingly fall at His feet, yet many of us won't even bend our knees.

“Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.” Luke‬ ‭7:45-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Of course, if you have it altogether; if you are not seeking forgiveness for your sins; then they are not being forgiven, so you would not love much!

I am, however, that woman for I was forgiven much sin! I have confessed and repented of every one! Because of being taught obedience I have peace! Because of being forgiven, I willingly live to serve Him! And praise God I am not alone!

“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” Jude‬ ‭1:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬

Repent while there is still time! We are not promised tomorrow!

Psalm 73

Psalm 73. Such an amazing Word for these days. If you have not read it recently - do!

Two of the verses are forever written in my heart! So many times have I, grasping deep within my heart for encouragement, come up with these!
‬‬
“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.” Psalms‬ ‭73:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When men fail me; when friends turn their back on me; when family is not to be found; I come face to face with the realization that He is all I have - He is all I want!

When I let myself down; when decisions don't come; expectations and hopes fail - I, again, am made aware THAT He alone is true and ALL I need!‬‬

“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Psalms‬ ‭73:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Father God, Maker Of Heaven & Earth, there is none like You! You are enough for any and every moment,  or any and every need, that arises in our pitiful lives. You alone are God, and we are not! You hold our future in Your hands; minute by minute, day by day, year after year! You know everything in it's entirety; nothing is a surprise to You! You are in control of all things; nothing is out of Your reach!  I lay down my life before You, to be used by You in anyway you see fit! My trust is in You! Mold me, make me, use me for Your glory, for You are all I need, to complete me. I surrender all.

He That Loveth

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We hear all the time about “God is Love” and truly it is His love in us that sets us apart from the rest of the world. But what does that love look like?

The Word of God is very specific about how we are to love; what defines love.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Everyone wants to love God but few want to keep His commandments!

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Loving God is not like loving puppies or chocolate! Loving God requires obedience!

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew‬ ‭22:37-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Loving God requires putting Him first above all; everyone else and yourself! It means you love nothing more than Him, including your children or your spouse! He’s number One! Then comes EVERYONE else! And you are last! And it’s not just how you feel, it’s how you act! Love requires results!

Sometimes the best way to tell what something “is”, is by looking at what it “isn’t!”

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”  ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Loving “not” is much easier than loving, but “not loving” is not an option. Loving the unlovable takes the love of God in us! It takes a determination to obey because we love Him; whether we feel like it or not! The world loves “not” because of what people do or don’t do! The world is not forgiving! The world holds a grudge! The world’s love is conditional. You do this and I will love you! Yet we are commanded to love in spite of everything!

The hardest to love are the ones who love us. We often take for granted they will love and accept us no matter what, and in doing so show them less love than a stranger. We often are hateful and speak with contempt to those closest to us (spouses and children) yet show courtesy to a stranger. This just shows what is really in our heart - not love!

The biggest issue is loving the things of the world!

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When You love God with all of your heart the “things” of the world mean nothing to you! All the glitz; all the glamour pale in His light! The promises of the world are lies; illusions that never bring happiness or contentment! If any it is fleeting; nothing to hold onto! The only satisfaction in this life is in our relationship with our Creator! He sustains; He completes; He fulfills!

His love in us, poured out on others is what our life is about! It’s not about our satisfaction; it’s about satisfying Him! Then and only then are we satisfied!

Examine your heart! Repent for the lack of love there and ask Him to pour His love in you, so that you may love like Him! If He requires it - He will make it possible! You just need to ask!

I Had Fainted

“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Psalms‬ ‭27:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

A couple of years ago, God promised me this, "that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living", and oh - has He come through! What I see Him doing everyday - blows my mind! He is an active, personal, involved God; moving heaven and earth to bring His children to Him!

In 2010, I began really reading my Bible and found that what it said did not add up to what the church was teaching! I became disillusioned with traditional denominational teachings; and cried out to God for the truth!

“When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I chose to believe and trust His WORD! I chose to take Him literally! I had tried everything else the world had to offer; what did I have to lose? My choice to obey; my desire for a true and deep relationship; my willingness for Him to refine me; what a glorious 2+ years!!!!

He has done everything He promised! Such joy! Such peace, especially during the storms! Such rest! No fear! Praise God, I had lived in such great fear, but He delivered me!

“One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He has!

If you are at the end of your rope -
If you have tried everything you know to do, to no avail -
If you are ready to give up -
"When you have lost heart" -
Then that's when He will meet you and change everything! When you throw up your hands. And say, "Okay, I've made a mess, and I can't fix it, do with my life what YOU wish!"

Then stand back! Oh! My!

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The word "wait" in the passage, means to watch! Like on a stake out.

Watch and wait on The LORD!

He moves when we get out of His way! And, oh how He moves!! He does all things well!

There has not been a single minute, in the last 2 years, that I have regretted Him taking control! My only regret is that it took me soooo long to give up!

Cry out! Repent! Expect!

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This People Draweth

“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew‬ ‭15:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here Jesus is talking about the religious folk; the same as we have today.

Nothing has changed.

We also worship "in vain" because our hearts are far from Him.

"True Worship is obedience to God!" KC

“And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.” Matthew‬ ‭15:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The discussion was about man's insistence (doctrine/tradition) in washing their hands before eating.

Maybe this is from where our "germ-a-phobes" come - but Jesus is saying look at your heart!

“And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.” Matthew‬ ‭15:16-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So He spells it out!

“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.” Matthew‬ ‭15:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Isn't that us???

We always wash before we eat yet feast on the trash the world serves; lewd, pornographic advertisements in magazines and on tv and videos; music with murderous and adulterous lyrics.

We carry antibiotic hand cleaner and use it after shaking hands at church then sit and watch scary movies (opening ourselves up to demonic spirits of fear) and tv shows that excite and cause us to lust for the things of the world!

We have desensitized several generations and wonder why our society has no regard for life.

And we wash our hands!

"We go to church and sing 'Oh How I Love Jesus' and then go out to eat and treat the waitress with contempt!" KC

"because our hearts are far from Him"

But our hands are clean!

Our hearts are wicked and our mouths condemn us!

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah‬ ‭17:9‬ ‭KJV

The profanity, that escapes in our conversation, says exactly what is in our hearts, and most often we are unaware of what we are saying; it is so acceptable. I mean, after all, it's all over the tv!

But our hands are clean!

Please examine your heart! Ask God to expose the sin hiding there; fear and unbelief, unforgiveness, pride, bitterness, gossip, anger, judgments, resentment, bitterness, self pity, etc.

Look at what you desire! Is it more stuff or a closer relationship with God?

Repent while there is still time!

The Devil Has

The devil has been telling mankind we do not have to obey the Word of God since the garden Eden and he is still doing it, today. When he says that you can live like the world and still be a Christian, we like Adam and Eve, fall for his lies.

However, The Bible says you can not love the things of the world and love God.

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” John‬ ‭14:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Most "Christians" are indistinguishable from the world. They love the same things, go to the same places, do the same things! They talk the same way, dress the same way and are okay with it! They are happy in their belief that you don't have to be "sold out", "extreme", or "radical" all the while boasting of being a "peculiar people."

They might have had an "experience" at one time; might have even read their Bible for a while; but when the testing came, they fell away. They may even have continued going to church, because of the way they were raised; "that's just what you do!"

They "love" Jesus and their "Jesus" is okay with their lifestyle because he is not the Jesus in the Bible. He is a "another Jesus!"

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus has not changed! The church has! And He said it would!

Here’s proof!

“Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” Revelation‬ ‭2:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭3:1-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

"lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God"

"having a form of godliness"

Doesn't THAT describe the church at large?

Entertain me!

Lights! Loud music! Programs! videos! Short sermons that make you feel good! Then off to lunch! Movies. Concerts. Ball games.

What happened to set apart?
What happened to repentance?
What happened to holiness?
What happened to hunger and thirsting after righteousness?
What happened to salt?
What happened to light?

What happened to:
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Matthew‬ ‭22:37-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Compromise!

We have not laid down our idols! We worship everything but God, but because we go to church and sing songs we think we are okay!

The argument goes: "how can we reach the lost if we don't go where they are?"  The reality is because we are "where" they are - we have nothing to offer them! They see no difference. They call us hypocrites, and they are right!

What a mess we are.

Oh, if only we had the power promised us! Then they would know! If only the Light of The World shone as brightly in us as He should! But He can't for all of the darkness still in our hearts. There is no room for Him because we are full of ourselves.

“But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

"Worldliness is whatever makes sin look normal and righteousness look strange." Kevin DeYoung

If you have chosen to take a stand for righteousness, you will feel like you stand alone. The narrow road is not heavily traveled and is hard for a reason. It's a proving ground for the overcomers.

“And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.” Matthew‬ ‭10:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The walk of a Follower of Jesus Christ is not supposed to be easy, because His walk was not easy! Being ridiculed and shunned by those you love is heart breaking; but that was His walk. We are to "count it all joy",  but often have to be reminded to do so!

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.” Luke‬ ‭6:27-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Prayer is the key that opens doors! Prayer changes things. Prayer is our best defense.

If you pray: "LORD open my eye; open my ears; change my heart! He will! You start reading your Bible and diligently seeking Him, you WILL find Him! He will draw you unto Himself! I promise you, it will not be the sugarcoated message preached in most churches, you will find. But the uncompromising message of the Cross will be the sweetest Word you have ever tasted; worth all of the pain the world can throw at you! There is no turning back!

Examine your heart and repent while there is still time!

Have Mercy

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.”Psalms‬ ‭51:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If you are burdened; if you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders; you have unrepented sin in your heart!

“Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.” Psalms‬ ‭51:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The only way to be free from that load is to acknowledge your sin, confess and repent! (James 5:16)

“Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” Psalms‬ ‭51:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The sins of unforgiveness you carry hurts you, and you alone! It is a breach between you and God! It has no impact on the one who hurt you. It has no impact on the person you judged, however, that unforgiveness will keep you from being forgiven by God! (Matt 6:14-15)

“Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You, who think you have forgiven; if it still hurts - it's not forgiven!

The sins of unforgiveness are a wall separating us from God! It's a wall we erect to protect us from further hurts; each hurt, a stone set in place, mortared by unforgiveness! That wall actually is a barrier to God's healing; the hurt - the spiritual root cause for many diseases! The wall, you erected in your heart, has to be torn down - stone by stone!

“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.” Psalms‬ ‭51:7-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Only in dealing with your sins will you be made clean. Only through confession and repentance will your iniquities be blotted out and joy imparted to you!

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Coming face to face with your sin is painful! True repentance breaks your heart! And is SO necessary! It's the hard, unrepentant heart that that will face God's wrath on the Judgment Day!

“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;” Romans‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God wants you to humble yourself; lay down your pride!

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalms‬ ‭51:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To be made whole; to be made pure; to be conformed to His nature, you MUST deal with your sin! (Romans 8:29)

“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” Psalms‬ ‭51:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Repent - while there is still time!

The Fear Of

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” Proverbs‬ ‭29:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Of all of the torments that the devil looses on us, fear is the most incapacitating; and he knows it! It stops us dead in our tracks; makes us ineffective for the Kingdom!

Why?

Because fear is unbelief!

When we fear, we say, "God is not big enough!" Our doubt renders God ineffective! It says we believe the devil's lies more than we believe God!

Fear is sin!

Fear and worry are contagious and at epidemic proportions in the church. So much so, they accepted as the norm! We have even given fear medical names and assigned it separate billing codes!

There is good fear and there is bad fear!

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The good fear puts us in fight or flight mode in danger. The bad fear projects "what if" danger occurs!

The bad fear takes our eyes off of Jesus and places it wherever the devil whispers! Instead of believing The Word, we believe his lies.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.” Psalms‬ ‭46:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are continually admonished in the Word, not to fear! 365 times! God is able! Yet we continue. Why? Because the spirit of fear has a right to torment us; because of the sin in our life! Because we refuse to repent, it has a legal right to be there! We can quote "God has not given us a spirit of fear" all day long to no avail, when we refuse to acknowledge and repent of the sin that resides in our heart!

I remember the day I was delivered of that spirit! I confessed my sin and repented of the unforgiveness I had held onto, when God showed me the root of my fear! In anguish, I repented of my unbelief and acknowledged my doubting God's integrity and power! I was set free and have walked without fear ever since! No fear of man and a healthy fear of God! His peace is amazing!

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms‬ ‭46:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” Psalms‬ ‭118:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:28‬ ‭KJV‬

Repent of your unbelief, while there is still time.

“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him” Job‬ ‭13:15‬a ‭KJV‬‬

Neither With You

“Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; But with him that standeth here with us this day before the Lord our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day: (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by; And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:) Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst: The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:14-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It was in reading this book that THE LORD opened my eyes many years ago! It was in reading The Curses that I was made aware of their existence in my life and the lives of those in the church around me! Reading this morning I weep in gratitude for His mercy and grace that called me out, instead of leaving me in darkness!

“Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I am amazed He gave me, a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear!

Me!

He showed me my sins!

And He showed me The Curse operating in my life - for generations!

I had been told I was Blessed!

I was lied to, by the church!

“Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You can say all day long that we are no longer under that covenant and that the law was fulfilled and you would be right!

We do have a better covenant!

Love! That's all we have to do!

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” Matthew‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It's a better or New Covenant!

An easier covenant; or is it?

When was the last time you loved The Lord with all of your heart; having no one or thing above Him? Not your children? Not your spouse? Not your career? When was the last time you loved your neighbor (brother, sister, coworker, employer, ex) as you love yourself? When was the last time you put Jesus above your wants and desires?

Yes, when we miss it, there is mercy and grace! If not we would already be dead! Instead we move out from under His hedge of protection (Blessings) and into the world which is cursed! ‬‬‬‬

“If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE Lord THY GOD; Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.”Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:58-59‬ ‭KJV‬‬. (Read all of Deuteronomy 28 and 29 and tell me you don't see it in all of the lives around you!)

The curse is supposed to be so uncomfortable that we don't want to stay there, but repent and move back under God's protection!

Don't you see, “great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.” everywhere you look?

Oh, people it's past time to repent! It's time to stop following the dictates of your heart and obey the WORD of THE LORD!

“But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” Galatians‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It stands to reason, however, conversely "if you are led by the "flesh", then you are back under the law!

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:19-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Not to mention - unforgiveness, gossip, grumbling and complaining, pride, bitterness, anger, fear, worry, and unbelief!

Church, we are running out of time!

Examine your heart! Ask The LORD to reveal to you the sins you have hidden there and repent! Ask Him to open your eyes, ears and give you His heart, before it's too late for you and everyone you love!

We must reach our world with The Truth and your family is your world!

Repent!
