Every Way

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Everyone thinks his heart is good! Everyone says, "God knows my heart!" The problem is we do not know our own heart. When we measure ourselves against others, we can always find those who are in worse shape than we. The problem is the gauge. If we have a standard such as The Word of God, we all fall short!

The Word says:
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”Jeremiah‬ ‭17:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Luke‬ ‭6:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We think our heart is good, yet our mouths betray us. One cannot speak blessings one minute and curse the next, and be right.

“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?”
‭‭James‬ ‭3:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” ‭Isaiah‬ ‭5:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Yes, when we measure ourselves against the world, we are not so bad. The problem is who are we trying to impress? Man? Or God?
Who do we love?

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John‬ ‭14:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We may think we love God, but the way we live says it all! If we are trying to fit in with the world, then we have shown who is really our god! If we are truly a Follower of The LORD Jesus Christ, we will never fit!

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”  James‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The world will only love you as long as it can get something from you. And they will turn on you and abandon you in a minute, when you cease to be of use. Ask any drug user.

“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”  John‬ ‭15:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We all have a choice as to the way we walk. And a time is coming, where a choice will have to be made. The day is near, when we can no longer straddle the fence. You know who you are. Not sold out. The problem is in God's Kingdom you cannot be lukewarm. There is no gray. It's black or white. You are or you are not.

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must repent! We must turn from our wicked ways.

“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

No decision for change IS a decision. Stop living for today and think about eternity!  It is facing us all, and some will be faced with their mortality sooner than later, for we are not promised tomorrow.

Only those living for themselves think they are good. For those who have examined themselves in the light of God's holiness, knows how depraved man truly is.

“For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” Galatians‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Take a good hard, honest look at yourself. Ask God to reveal the sin hiding in your heart, then repent; before it's too late!

"If any man thinks ill of you do not be angry with him, for you are far worse than he thinks you to be!" Spurgeon

Even so - MARANATHA!
