Remember The Former

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭46:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

NONE!

“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” Isaiah‬ ‭46:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Oh - if we could only wrap our heads around Who God Is!  He's inconceivable to us! Words are inadequate! 

He spoke into existence everything we see! 

He knows what you have done! He knows what you will do! You didn't just happen. He created you and there is no other like you; similar is not the same. You are unique! He made you that way! 

“My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalms‬ ‭139:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He even knows your thoughts and the sins you have hidden in your heart!

“O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.”

Because we have such a limited ability to understand who God IS; and because we are unwilling to obey to His Commandments, we manufacture god's in our own image; ones who will allow us to do what we wish to do! 

“To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.”

Yet you say, "We don't make graven images!" "We don't bow down to idols!"

No, your idols are who and what you love more than God,  and you have a different Jesus; a god made in your own image; one who does not require obedience to The Word of God! 

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The "Jesus" most worship today is straight out of Hollywood. Show a picture from any of the movies and anyone can pick him out.  Not only has his likeness been fabricated but also his attributes!  He is as powerless as the actor who portrays him. 

But one day He will return and surprise all who think they know Him, but actually do not know Him. 

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭7:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew‬ ‭7:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He's coming back for a Bride without spot or blemish! 

“That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

"Holiness" - a foreign word in today's church! 

We don't have much more time and we'd better get it right! Repent while there is still time!

“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Revelation‬ ‭3:15-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” ‭Matthew‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬
