What Is A Storm?

What is a storm?

A storm is a heartbreaking circumstance of which you have no control! A great loss, either of life or security! Could be of your own making; results of a poor choice or it might be happening to someone you love! Whatever your storm - it won't last forever but it's results just may! Sometimes storms come and we emerge  unscathed. At other times we are bruised, broken; our lives changed forever!

Why do we have storms?
A storm's purpose is to stop you dead in your tracks! The impact causes an abrupt stop in the wrong way of living! An accident immobilizing you; the loss of a job; the death of a loved one,  all examples of storms that leave you with time on your hands, and questions in your heart! "God why?" If the down time goes on long enough, it will turn into: "God help!"

Sometimes it takes many storms, over a period of time to put a person on his knees!

THAT is the intention of the storms in our lives; to bring us to God!

God uses storms to get our attention; to correct our behavior; bring us to a place where He can do a work in our lives! So that we can be used by Him! Full of ourselves is not Full Of Him!

For someone that has gone the wrong way for a long time; when God reaches down in the gutter and jerks them out, through an event; that person immediately recognizes that God's hand rescued them and gives Him glory!

Someone who has been in church all their life is more stubborn and it may take many storms of increasing intensity for them to be humbled and realize that they have been off course! But rest assured, God will continue to bring storms until the person turns from the wrong way he/she is headed; correcting, perfecting us, until we are headed in the right direction! When we have drifted He knows, and He will adjust in whatever manner He deems necessary to bring us to  the realization that He is God and we are not!

“for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:5b-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are all stubborn children intent on doing our thing! We will go head long, kicking and screaming, with great determination to do it alone , cause we "don't need" anyone! And when we fail, (and we will) we cry out to God, and like the loving Father, that He IS, He picks us up and lovingly corrects our attitude!

God knows what it will take to bring us back into His arms!

I thank God for His relentless love!

He loves us so much He won't leave us in our sin!

“To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” ‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It took a storm for me to turn fully to Him and that's why I praise Him in the storm!

"Broken" is a good place to be!

Even so - MARANATHA!
