Ezekiel 33:31-33 KJV
"they hear thy words, but they do them not", the scriptures, above, could be said about the church today! How many of us listen to sermons, or read a post on Facebook and "Like" it, but never apply it to our lives?
“but their heart goeth after their covetousness”- we are admonished to repent of our sins, and yet we think we are "good"; we do not realize the fear, the worry, the bitterness, and judgments residing in our hearts are the sins He abhors! Our hearts are hard; we are deceived!
Our time, here, is running out and we must get it right! We must turn from our wicked ways! Those "wicked ways" are "doing our own thing"; not obeying His commandments! I'm not talking about the big sins like murder, stealing, adultery; I'm speaking of the acceptable sins that everyone does! The unforgiveness in your heart is considered wicked before God, as evidenced in Matthew 6:14-15: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Those words Jesus spoke after teaching His disciples to pray! He thought they were important and we should too! For you see, there will be no people in heaven holding onto unforgiveness in their hearts! The way to know if you have forgiven someone or not - is: if the memory still hurts it's not forgiven! "Letting go" does not resolve the issue! Unforgiveness requires repentance! Unforgiveness is sin! You must repent of your sin of disobedience! God said to forgive and you didn't!
“Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.” Ezekiel 33:12-16 KJV
It doesn't matter how good you try and live, it's the sins hidden in your heart that will separate you from God! People who commit murder or steal, know they have done wrong. Those who live "right" yet live in fear, worry and bitterness, judging and holding unforgiveness in their heart are who will be stunned at the Judgement Seat when they hear:
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:23 KJV
Sin is lawlessness! (Breaking God's Law) Sin is wickedness!
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”
Ezekiel 33:11 KJV
Repent while there is still time!
Even so - MARANATHA!
