Is Any Sick

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” ‭‭James‬ ‭5:14-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In my post yesterday, I referenced  the above scriptures. Verses 14 and 15, every church quotes. Verse 16, not so much. Confessing our sins to one another is very foreign to the Protestant church. It's omission in practice has probably had the greatest impact of all of the lies the devil has propagated in the church. He knew if we didn't confess, we would be less apt to be healed.

You see the devil is all about pride, and pride is what you lay down when you confess your sin to someone. He, the devil, refused to humble himself to God, and in so doing, was proclaiming himself to be His equal. It's all about submission. 

“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Everyone quotes this as "pride goeth before a fall!" Proof of the enemy twisting God's Word!

The devil knows if you do not humble yourself, you are headed for destruction. Big difference! THAT is why he has compromised the Truth in the church! 

When we humble ourself in obedience to God by confessing our sins to one another, it breaks down that sin barrier to allow for our healing and deliverance! 

The cleansing and the freedom that comes from our obedience is something that is hard to describe. The immediate release of heaviness, from true repentance, of the weights of our sins is a gift from God. 

The church has moved away from repentance. Very seldom do you hear a preacher call the assembly to repentance. The sugar-coated, feel good message of today does not put you on the narrow path. Pride is the broad path leading to destruction. 

Only through obedience to God's Word will we overcome.

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation‬ ‭21:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Word says forgive, and do not judge. Judging and not forgiving is sin. Repentance of our sin is required for obedience! Pride is sin. Laying down our pride, and confessing our sins, is obedience. 

I met with people I could trust. I humbled myself and confessed my sins. I repented for the unforgiveness I held in my heart and for judging those who had hurt me and whom I had hurt, and through my obedience, I was healed and delivered!

The devil has been twisting God's Word since the garden and is still doing so, today. However, God's Word is true! Traditions of men and church doctrine is corrupt. Read your Bible and ask God to open your eyes to His Truth! He is faithful!

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”  ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” 1 Timothy‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Thank You LORD for Your mercy and grace. Brings us to repentance!
