Who Can Utter

“Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise? Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.” Psalms‬ ‭106:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Reading the above verse I am so painfully aware that I do not do this! I want to "do righteousness at all times", but fail daily! My hearts desire is be holy "as He is holy" and I blow it, continually!

“We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭106:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I remember when I first started reading my Bible years ago, I would read how the Israelites would sin against God, right after He had done some great miracle, and I would sit in judgment, thinking to myself, "I wouldn't do that!"

Now as I read; I see myself just like the Children of Israel, sinning against The Lord, moments after witnessing a wondrous event that was so obviously God!

In humble repentance, I confess my old man not being as dead as he should be, and I give thanks that God has made me, once again, to realize my failings!

“Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.” Psalms‬ ‭106:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I love "that"; my daily wanderings in the wilderness give Him ample opportunities to look good! But isn't that His way?  My weaknesses; my inabilities easily show that I'm incapable, but that He is working in me and through me!

The children would rejoice in His miracles then turn around and sin!

“Then believed they his words; they sang his praise. They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.” Psalms‬ ‭106:12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Again and again -

“They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt; Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word: But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭106:21-22, 24-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them: But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭106:34-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I have done all of this!

And will again.

“Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry: And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.” Psalms‬ ‭106:43-45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Praise God that He WILL hear my cry, also, and deliver me once again, because He knows me! He knows what I'm made of; He knows where I've come from; He knows where I'm going; He knows because He called me! He's perfecting me!

My hearts desire is to serve Him, without reservation! To seek Him all my days! To be available for His use, as He needs me!

As long as I stay humble and repentant He can work in me! And when I get too full of myself, He's quick to point out He IS God, not me!

“Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭106:47-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Join me this morning, in praise of a God that is powerful enough to create the universe and yet personal enough to give a spanking to His wayward child!

Even so - MARANATHA!
