But As He

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Oooooooooo do you see that? 

“In all manner of conversation!”

In other words - your words do matter! If you are a follower of Jesus Christ you should not be cussing! 

Cussing is not holy!

Cussing is a habit and has a spirit behind it. I’ve noticed that most of the believers I know that cuss do not even know they are doing it OR they immediately apologize! Often it accompanies anger; another spirit!

Jesus speaking: “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Matthew‬ ‭12:34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Whatever that is in your heart, when squeezed, is what comes out. 

If you are truly a believer or follower of Jesus you feel conviction when you cuss. You then need to repent! You can overcome by The Blood of The Lamb.  That is how you become holy; through repentance. 

“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” Colossians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.” James‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

My prayer: Father, I come to You having nothing I can boast in, but I can boast in You! I thank You Lord for the work you have done in me; and are continuing to do in me. You have cleaned me up - especially my speech! But I surrender all to You today. I ask Lord for forgiveness for when my speech is not salty. My desire is for everything I say to be a reflection of Your goodness; every word pointing the hearers to You; glorifying You! I repent Lord for any words that escape my tongue that are not holy in Your sight! In Jesus name I pray!
