If We Say

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:6-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Today, it seems, everyone believes themselves to be a Christian. The watered down gospel makes everyone a candidate for salvation with no effort on their part. They believe they have “light” but live in darkness. 

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It can be very confusing!

Fellowship with one another is a key. 

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭KJV‬

Sometimes there is nothing you can do to be friends with someone; it’s a spiritual problem. Do not take offense, just pray for them. Ask The Lord if you have done something, and if He reveals a transgression, repent and then go to them and ask their forgiveness. If He shows you nothing continue to pray for them, but be at peace. 

The difference is the light and the darkness. 

Light does not have to be right. Light will suffer a wrong to keep peace. Darkness insists on its own way and will carry a grudge forever! (1 Peter 4)

Light is quick to acknowledge sin and repent. Darkness refuses to admit error and is quick to blame everyone but themselves.

“Do not the truth!” 

How do you “do” Truth?

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Obedience to God’s Word! 

“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” Romans‬ ‭13:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You give up the right to be right! 

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Repent while there is still time.
