Looking through Facebook this morning, I'm so aware of how far off the narrow road we've erred!
Mind you my newsfeed has been groomed to reflect Jesus and my faith in Him! The pages I've "liked" and even Facebook's suggestions are geared to exalt His name! What I see missing is the word "repentance", in the majority of stories, songs and posts!
Many believe that they took care of "that" when they were saved! They go to church, however they look more like the world than they should! Most think they are okay, even though they worry, fear, have bitterness, gossip, are angry and are prideful in their rebelliousness!
In the following scriptures Jesus addresses the church not the world!
“Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.”
Revelation 2:5 NKJV
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:19 NKJV
“Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.”
Revelation 2:16 NKJV
“Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.”
Revelation 3:3 NKJV

"There she goes again!""All she does is talk about repentance!"
Would you like to know why?
Because, someone preached repentance to me, I heard and repented, and my life changed! And I thank God everyday!
See, He called me out of a denominational church; one that did not preach repentance of sin! I was told that what "was past should stay in the past!" Never was I told what God considers sin! I too, went to church three times a week and thought I was living for God; all the while angry, rejected, fearful, bitter, holding onto the judgments and unforgiveness, buried deep in my heart! I had my church face on too, just like all of the other hurting souls, coming there, hoping to find relief from the torment of life!
““For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV
The Power Of Forgiveness!
God is all over that! I repented and forgave and was set free! I had never known peace, till then!
Do I have it all together? No! But I know where to go, when I blow it!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9 NKJV
My mentor calls this the "fallin down, gettin back up" scripture! And quotes it to me often!
There is a scripture before:
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” I John 1:8 NKJV
and after:
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” I John 1:10 NKJV
that the church tends to overlook; because we have been told we are "okay!"
Brothers and sisters we are not "okay"!
I once heard a teaching that resonated with me; "I was lost, when I thought I was saved! Joyce Green had been a Sunday School Superintendent! I also heard testimony of a Baptist preacher who had pastored a church for 30 years and said he had just been saved after hearing the message of The Power Of Forgiveness! I have now been saved for 4 years after being told I was saved for over 40 years!
The difference?
Obedience!
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
James 5:16 NKJV
Out of obedience, I met with people I could trust, I humbled myself and confessed my sins, I repented of unforgiveness and judgments I had made against those who had hurt me! They prayed for me and I was healed and set free!
I had tried everything the world had had to offer! I was so low; I had nothing to lose! I met Him on His terms! I chose to trust God at His Word and my life has not been the same since! Anyone who knows me, knows that! I have had many subsequent meetings and little by little, have surrendered more and more of me to Him!
“Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ”
Philippians 3:8 NKJV
You who are suffering; you who have lost hope; you who have no where else to go; you are right where God wants you! You see NOW that you have nowhere else to turn, He can do for you what He did for me!
“He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.”
Psalms 40:2 NKJV
