When you were in school, did you ever have an assignment that you didn't have time to do? Did you "fake it", turn in some papers and pray that you'd get a passing grade? Maybe you weren't that interested in the material. Maybe you were distracted by a new friend or toy. Maybe you had more pressing family matters on your mind and could have cared less about "that stupid paper"! You are smart and with just a little effort you could have had an outstanding score, so the bad grade was not life defining. You just didn't give it the time!
No one has time!
Not enough time!
No time!
We have got our priorities so messed up; big time! We don't have time for ourselves (to eat, sleep), we don't have time to spend with those we love, we don't have time for God!
Everyday day I hear people say that they are making a little time for themselves by doing ______ for themselves! Then they proceed to tell me all of the things that are going wrong in their life!
I very seldom hear people say, I had the best morning (afternoon or evening) with God, today!
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you". (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)
We have forgotten how to seek!
Like the school assignment, God is not a priority! He is a "thing" we do a couple of times a week if our schedule allows! We have filled our lives with "important" things, and we need sleep, or we have a game, or have to do laundry, and the list goes on!
We are so tired! We are so deceived! We are so going to hell! Oh wait, no that's wrong, because we said some words after a preacher and he told us we are good! SMH
The sweetest time of your day should be time you set aside for God! Starting your day, with Him, sets the tone! Read your Bible, share your concerns with Him, pray for the people you love! Set your alarm in the morning, get up a little early, to give Him your first hour; before the world encroaches with it's demands!
Get to know the One who is actually in control of your life! Seek Him! He cares about your life and He desires to communicate with you about even the smallest concern! Believe me, God is into details!
God knows the reason you don't want to spend time with Him! He knows the sin in your life even if you refuse to acknowledge it! He knows when the storms get bad enough (and they will) that you will turn to Him, and He'll be there to help you pick up the pieces!
But, if you start now, seeking Him with your whole heart, first - above all else; when the storms come you will have peace, and you won't be lost!
Repent today! Don't wait! Time is so short!
Purpose in your heart to make Him your "primary purpose", instead of one of your "if I have time"(s)!
