Examine Yourselves

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭13:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Now that's a word we don't often use. Wanting to get the definition, I went to the web:

Miriam Webster gives the following:

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

The world finds nothing wrong with being a reprobate. The Bible, however has a different view; as one destined for hell!

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭13:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I was, but am no longer a reprobate! And I do not think it is amusing or endearing! The evil; the darkness that was in me, I find repulsive. There is no "little evil" or a "great deal of evil"; there is just evil! Even a little darkness residing in you demands you be sent to hell, except for the mercy of God!

Because of the evil of religion; those who are sold out to Jesus Christ are ridiculed, whereas the reprobate is coddled! 
And this is why:

 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

The Bible is plain. There is good; there is evil; there is light; there is darkness! There is no in between!

“But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It's time we examine our hearts and ask God to expose the evil hiding in the recesses, so we may repent! What evil? Sin! What sin? Unforgiveness, bitterness, judgments, anger, fear/unbelief, worry, gossip, grumbling and complaining, etc! 

“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Matthew‬ ‭12:34‬ ‭KJV‬‬
