“Pardon, I beseech Thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of Thy mercy, and as Thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. And the Lord said, "I have pardoned according to thy word:"” Numbers 14:19-20 KJV
Moses interceding, on behalf of the children of Israel, and God forgiving them because Moses cried out to Him. God listened to Moses and refrained His hand. Yes, there remained consequences for their actions, however God did not destroy them in one instant. God changed His mind because Moses asked.
I read this and had an "Aha" moment! Another weapon for my arsenal! I had never thought to beseech The LORD to "Pardon" the iniquities of the one in need of prayer. Moses did that for 40 years with the Israelites, time and time again. One man interceding for the people. And God heard and moved.
“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30 KJV
All throughout The Bible we see where prayers raised up, brought healing, deliverance; changed lives! Our prayers are so important; in one life or many! And I so appreciate everyone who has prayed for my family recently. Please continue!
My prayer this morning:
Father, I come to You this morning, having nothing I can boast in, but I can boast in You; Your mercy and Your grace! Father, I pray for my friends and family, pardon our iniquities! I ask LORD that You would open our eyes to the deception that is all around us! Open our ears so that we may hear Your voice above the lies of the enemy. Expose the sin in our hearts so that we may repent and give us a heart for repentance! Change us LORD! Save us to the uttermost! Make us usable for Your glory! Put it on our hearts to be the one who will stand in the gap, for your son or daughter who is in need; individually and collectively! Let us love not only in word but also in deed! May we be Your mouth, Your hands, Your feet, in this dark, dark world. All for Your glory!
“But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.” Numbers 14:21 KJV
Even so - MARANATHA!
