“Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”
Exodus 40:34-35 KJV
Moses was unable to enter into the tent because the glory of The LORD filled the tabernacle!
Moses, a friend of God, who spoke with Him face to face, was unable to enter, because His glory filled the tent!
How can we so nonchalantly speak/sing about bringing His glory down, or "show us Your glory"?
Until we grasp the enormity of God and our insignificance, we are unable to comprehend His power and holiness! Our lack of reverence, awe; our lack of "fear of The LORD" betrays our time spent in seeking His Word! The Word, details our sin nature and His righteousness; we must come to the place of understanding that He is God and we are not.
Job's description;
“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.” Job 1:1 KJV
Finally understood:
“Then Job answered the Lord, and said, Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.” Job 40:3-5 KJV
We must come to the end of ourselves, and see who we are not, to discover Who He IS!
Maybe that is when we are able to surrender!
Oh thank You LORD for being a God of mercy; a God of such grace as to lovingly look upon your creation with such compassion! Made from dust, by Your hands, forgive our sins, our prideful selves and bring us to repentance! Change us LORD! Open our eyes so that we may see what we are not; how little our impact, so that we may have a glimpse of Your immenseness! Make us to understand Your vastness so we may truly fear You!
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 KJV
“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.”
Proverbs 16:6 KJV
Jesus speaking:
“But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him.” Luke 12:5 KJV
Even so - MARANATHA!
