For What Glory

“For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Did someone wrong you yesterday? If not, someone will probably wrong you today? It seems the closer we get to the holidays, the more on edge people become. During a time when everyone should be thinking of others some only think of themselves. Shopping; in traffic; many, it seems are just looking to take their frustrations out on someone; anyone.

So how do we respond? In the same manner or as Jesus did?

Kindness often defuses explosive situations. People expect a fight and are on the defensive, however, love covers a multitude of sins. We offer mercy in those times we will receive mercy when we need it; and who doesn’t need mercy?

I had a wrong done to me yesterday. It’s the second time this person has wronged me. The devil told me all night how I am “within my rights” to expect and demand restitution; how I could refuse further service to this person and would be “within my rights!” The choice is mine, to let this customer go, however, because of Who I belong to, the choice is His!

I take my dilemma to Him and ask for wisdom!  I accept His advice/commandment based on His Word.  In other words, I have no choice in this matter! As His servant, I have no rights, and I am so okay with that!

My mentor says: when you get your lemon squeezed, what comes out - is what’s in the middle of it! Lemon juice or honey? In other words, what’s in your heart?

Upon taking my situation to the Scriptures and inquiring “the right” thing to do in my situation; my peace was restored. I knew without a doubt I would rather please my Father than please my pocketbook!

Turn the other cheek; give him my cloak too; whatever my LORD asks of me I am pleased to do, for I live for His good pleasure!

Every time? Maybe - someday! Right now, I’m happy to say, I passed my test today!

I will do my work as unto The LORD.  I will extend mercy and let The LORD fight my battles. I will walk in love; I will walk in forgiveness; and when I miss it, I will walk in repentance. I will be light in the darkness.

What will your choice be today?

Even so - MARANATHA
