And The Children

“And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves. Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan–rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan–rishathaim eight years.” ‭‭Judges‬ ‭3:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How do you forget The LORD your God?

By not dealing with sin!  Refusing to forgive!  Making excuses for your disobedience. It hardens your heart. 

“Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How many times do we read about the children of Israel refusing to obey God? The didn’t drive out their enemies; they married their daughters to the inhabitants of the land in direct disobedience to His statutes. They even made gods to suit themselves; ones that allowed them to sin they way they desired. 

And we’ve done the same things! 

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:46‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God repeatedly told those He considered His to stay away from things that would cause the curses (He put on Egypt) to come on them. His commandments were for their own good, and they are still are, for our own good today. Those curses are still in operation and are visible if your eyes are open to The Truth. The problem is that deceived people do not know they are deceived! 

Could you be deceived?

If you answer no, then you most likely are!

The compromises the “church” has made with the world has brought in demonic activity; witchcraft/rebellion abounds! Many of the people I know (who go to church every week and consider themselves to be Christians) practice yoga (another religion with a million gods) and are pro choice (condones murder.) Many do not hesitate to frequent the concerts and bars or go to movies and read books that are heavy in the occult or play video games that are steeped in satanism. (Exodus 20:3-5, 13)(Deuteronomy 18:10-12)

So how does one who was a “believer” become a nonbeliever?

Looking for something elsewhere for valadation! The world is always quick to give you an alternative to God! That’s because satan is the god of this world and he is intent on corrupting believers. His options are endless; baiting the hook with enough truth to deceive those who do not know The Word or stay close to the cross; refusing to repent of their sins.

The devil whispers in your ear, “this is the way, walk in it! It’s more fun than the other way!” His promises are temporary enjoyment to keep you from thinking about eternity.  He knows how rewards work; now or later. And if you don’t believe in God and eternity then you will choose the “now”reward. Problem with not believing; it doesn’t change the fact that there is eternity and eternal judgment! But then it’s too late. You’re  caught; captured. You’ve been in bondage all along but you thought it was normal, because that was all you’d known. 

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” ‭‭John‬ ‭8:44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Many spend their entire lives searching for the truth; searching other religions, science and philosophy!

“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I searched endlessly and He finally found me! 

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When I finally began searching the Holy Scriptures; reading with a heart willing to be shown The Truth, my eyes were opened and I was shown His goodness for a people He loves  enough to sacrifice His Son for their redemption. 

God, The Creator Of the universe made a way to Himself where there was no way; for a people determined to destroy themselves. Why? What would He want us for? Because He love us! We are His creation - you and me! Our salvation is His reward for His sacrifice.

It all comes down to sin. Most these days do not believe in sin or hell. Unless you know you are a sinner deserving of hell then you don’t believe you need a Savior! 

Today’s apostate church has created a god that is not just; he just loves. 

“Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.” Isaiah‬ ‭45:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There are consequences for disobedience to His Word - in this life and in eternity.

“Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.” Romans‬ ‭7:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Holiness is a byproduct of being a follower of The LORD Jesus Christ; a requirement not a suggestion. 

“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Examine your heart. Ask The LORD to show you your sins. Ask Him to open your eyes and ears to the deception which abounds. Read your Bible! Let Him speak to you! 

Repent while there is still time.
