We are in a battle!
The war is in our head!
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
From the moment we wake up, till we go to sleep at night, the enemy is out to distract you, to get your mind off of obedience to God!
Your thoughts are not all your own!
The powers of darkness will be putting thoughts in your mind, all day long, to get you to sin! That is why the Word Of God gives the above counsel! The enemy wants you to fail, but God wants you to succeed!
Every sin begins as a thought!
“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:14-15 KJV
Entertaining thoughts that are contrary to God's commandments is how we get in trouble! That's why we are instructed to take them captive!
The enemy is a liar and will be whispering accusations, against you (and others) that are lies! You must not come into agreement with Him! You are NOT who/what he says you are!
When you realize that you are thinking "wrong" thoughts - Repent! (When you fall down you get back up!) Ask God to forgive you and then think on His Word!
The only way to battle the enemy is with The Word of God! That's why it is imperative for you to read your Bible! You have to get it in your heart!
When you pick up any other book to read, you begin at the beginning and read right through! Doesn't the Word Of God deserve the same respect? You wouldn't pick up a novel and just jump around in it, because you know you would miss so much of what the author was trying to convey!
Purpose in your heart to read The Word and ask God to open your eyes to receive The Truth, and He will!
The world does not want to read The Bible; come out of the world!
“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:” Colossians 3:5-10 KJV
Think on these things!
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Philippians 4:8 KJV
You seek God!
You walk in repentance!
You walk in forgiveness!
You walk in love!
Read The Word and Obey!
