This is not my home, for I left all to follow Christ! In looking forward to being with Him, in putting off the old, in seeking first His Kingdom, I have moved farther and farther away from what drives the world! And in doing so, I'm reminded of Ecclesiastes “Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2 NKJV)
"What is crooked cannot be made straight, And what is lacking cannot be numbered." (Ecclesiastes 1:15 NKJV)
We strive our entire lives and totally miss the point of our existence! We were not put here for our good pleasure but for His! To do His work! To be His hands and feet! To let Him speak through us!
"A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1 NKJV)
Our flesh dies slow and hard and we have to be diligent to not be sidetracked! Distractions are always in front of us, trying to steal our heart; to get our eyes off of The Prize; our upward calling! With everything that is happening in the world today, it is so easy to respond the way the world responds. Then we argue amongst ourselves and more division occurs and the enemy succeeds!
"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:31-32 NKJV)
"“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:26-27 NKJV)
In my reading this morning:
"And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
‘The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ (Luke 10:9, 11 NKJV)
"the kingdom of God has come near you" echoes in my mind, and I wonder how near we are to the kingdom?
Do you think if we were aware of how close we are to "the kingdom" we would be concerned with the things of this world?
NOW more than ever, in our lives we have to keep our eyes on Jesus and seek first the kingdom of God!
THAT is the only way we will survive what's coming!
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12 NKJV)
The very ones we love will be what the enemy uses to hinder our walk or stop it altogether if possible. The political fiascos we are witnessing are diversions, the very participants puppets for the devil's devices! The end is near and he will pull all stops to take us out!
"Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it." (Luke 17:33 NKJV)
If you are trying to hold on to the illusion of what has been, in lieu of what is truly real, you will be greatly disappointed! The lie of the enemy runs deep, and we will never have "business as usual" again! We were never as close as we thought we were!
Our allegiance to our country and our flag is an idol God has torn down!
"And when they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were broken off on the threshold; only Dagon’s torso was left of it." (I Samuel 5:4 NKJV)
We have worshiped what was made with hands NOT the Maker of all mankind!
The homosexual is not our enemy, nor the politicians, nor Isis. The devil is our enemy, and he uses whosoever he wills to do his dirty work! Do not fear man!
"“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!" (Luke 12:4-5 NKJV)
This spiritual battle is won, and unless you change sides, get your heart right through repentance, take up the full armor of God, you will miss the celebration at the end of the war!
"“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’" (Revelation 3:1-6 NKJV)
