"Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the LORD." (Psalms 96:11, 12 NKJV)
Last night when leaving church, I stood with many, in awe at a spectacular display, that only could have been ordained by God! There had to have been millions of fireflies all performing their dance in the field and even in the trees, to their very top! We stood in amazement watching the beautiful display of light and grace; each of us aware that we were privileged to observe the phenomena! The trees sparkled so much, they appeared to have been sprinkled with glitter! Everywhere we looked a magnificent light show, man could not have duplicated! In over 60 years, I personally have never seen anything like it!
Our worlds revolve around us and we believe all was made for us; our pleasure; our use! We go about our business oblivious to God's glorious creation, occasionally noticing a beautiful sunrise or sunset. But so self absorbed we miss His wondrous works!
All of creation; every minute of everyday; doing what it was designed to do; gives glory to God in amazing display!
And all we do is worry, grumble and complain, and fret over distractions the enemy throws our way, to get our eyes off of God! We limit our worship (if that is what you can call it) to once or twice a week; mindlessly singing songs all the while trying to figure what we will have for lunch!
"Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth." (Psalms 96:8, 9 NKJV)
True worship is obedience to God's commandments! That is the beauty of holiness!
We are commanded: "And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these."” (Mark 12:30, 31 NKJV)
If we do that; if we make Him our primary purpose in our life; if He indeed IS our first love, our Beloved, then our very lives will be a worship to The One Who IS worthy of worship! Then we will shine in His glory like the rest of His glorious creation!
Even so - MARANATHA!
