“Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.” Psalms 141:4 KJV
Evil so desirable, so beautiful on the surface; its pleasures momentary its consequences lasting a lifetime.
Like in the garden we taste and we see too late - the damage is done.
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.” Ezekiel 28:13 KJV
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Ephesians 5:11 KJV
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15 KJV
Father, I come to you this morning having nothing I can boast in, but I can boast in You; Your mercy and Your goodness! Father I ask that you would open our eyes to see the evil that surrounds us, masquerading as good, so that we may abstain from its every form as You have commanded. Forgive us where we have missed it in the past. We repent for lusting after the things of the world that promise but never fulfill. Let our joy only come from You; in obedience to Your Word! Thank You LORD that You have brought us out of darkness. Keep us in Your light. Thank You for Your mercy and Your Grace.
Even so - MARANATHA!
