People it is time to stop playing church! It is time to seek Him with your whole heart! He does not want you to set time aside for Him like you would a hobby or a sport! He doesn't want a portion. He wants ALL of you! He wants you to fall "in love" with Him!
As the song says He's not "something to believe in"!
He is not an idea, or an ideal!
He is not a denomination!
He is not a religion.
He IS!
He IS more than we are!
He wants you to lose yourself in Him!
We are seeing the world fall apart before our very eyes, thanks to our TV's! Evil has always been but is more apparent than ever! Many, like me, believe these days are darker than in the days of Noah! I do know that it will get worse and those who are not in relationship with God will not make it!
I've written in the past about the difference in "knowing someone" and "knowing of someone". I'm amazed at the facts that people know about celebrities. But, knowing facts does not mean knowing them!
I'm sure, unless Taylor Swift has your number on her Speed-dial that she would not appreciate you calling her, in the middle of the night!
Same with God! You may know of God, gone to church all (or part of) your life, own one or two Bibles. May even pray in tough times! You probably even use His name in vain often! But THAT does not mean you KNOW Him! And He will call you on it!
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:23 KJV
It is not too late for you to examine your heart. As long as you draw breath, you have hope!
Repent! Turn from your wicked ways!
Desire God to come in and break up your hard heart! Let Him get rid of the rocks and stones that keep your heart from being tender towards Him! "Break up your fallow ground"! Ask Him sow seeds of righteousness!
However, it's your choice whether He does a work in you! You have to choose to give up your pride and humble yourself in submission to Him.
When you choose not to do so, you are in rebellion and are submitting to darkness as the devil did! There is only light and dark! There are no shades of gray when it comes to righteousness! Your choice! Light or darkness!
You may think you have an “understanding” with God!
He understands that you are in rebellion and are choosing to do your own thing regardless of what The Bible says you should or should not do! What you do not understand is there is no negotiation with God!
He IS God and you are not!
Repent or continue to walk in your sin, with no forgiveness!
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14-15 KJV
Yes, you can join a church and say some words and believe you are forgiven because your denomination told you so, however if you have unforgiveness in your heart you will not be forgiven! You will not go to heaven! You don't just forget it, or put it behind you!
Forgiveness is a choice you make out of love and obedience to God! (It’s not between you and that person; it’s between you and God!) Repentance of the unforgiveness you have held onto is vital in a right relationship with God!
It all comes down to choices!
Choosing to be obedient; submission to His authority is living for Him, not yourself! It’s about commitment!
It is not "all about you" it's all about Jesus!
Repent while there is still time!
