“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 2 Corinthians 11:4 KJV
Have you noticed how many Jesus' there are today?
1). We have the King Jesus that will give you all the money you need.
2). Then we have the Jesus who would have all Christians be Jews.
3). Then you have the soft Jesus that accepts everyone just as they are and loves them so much - He leaves them that way.
None of these resemble the Jesus I know!
1) Most know of the "prosperity gospel" that started in the 70s and still exists today in some degree. King Jesus bears little resemblance to the Servant Jesus: “Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.” John 13:8 KJV
Rooted in humanism, it's all about self: getting your needs met. Seldom if ever are scriptures such as 1 Corinthians 15:31 taken into account, nor Galatians 5:24. The prosperity gospel is all about satisfying wants. 2 Peter 3:3, Revelation 3:17
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5 KJV
2) I have given great thought to the nameof Jesus and why we have such discrepancies throughout the church! I've come to the conclusion that the purpose is to discredit The Word. The enemy's main objective is to keep people from the saving Truth! If he can cast doubt on the validity of His name - then reasoning follows: "what else in The Bible is in error?"
I know many people who love God yet have chosen to not use the name of His Son, Jesus Christ; believing with their whole heart that the Hebraic name is more pleasing to a Him.
I believe the author of this is the enemy, to distract from the real issue; a matter of the heart. The Pharisees and the Sadducees had the head knowledge, followed The Law to the letter but refused to deal with the issues of their heart!
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” Matthew 22:29 KJV
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” 1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV
If you are preaching the gospel message, yet are telling a babe in Christ that His name is not the name in their Bible, are you casting doubt in his mind?
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6 KJV
In considering the "Name" of Jesus -
I ran across this: “And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.” Mark 7:34 KJV
Ephphatha [EBD]
the Greek form of a Syro-Chaldaic or Aramaic word, meaning "Be opened," uttered by Christ when healing the man who was deaf and dumb (Mark 7:34). It is one of the characteristics of Mark that he uses the very Aramaic words which fell from our Lord's lips.If Mark would drop in an Aramaic word or if a Hebrew word is used in another part of the Bible, why wouldn't the "correct" name of Jesus be used as well? It would have been just as easy for the writers to use the word "Yeshua" or "Yehoshua" in its stead.
Throughout the New Testament we are told to "ask" and "do" in the name of Jesus.
“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” Ephesians 5:20 KJV
Jesus Himself says: “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” John 16:23 KJV
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17 KJV
So, the "Name" of Jesus is important! There is power in His "Name"! So maybe the demons don't want us to speak His name! They know! The demons even called Him by name.
“But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. . . . And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.” Mark 5:6-9, 12 KJV
Demons still know Him as Jesus and use His name as cussing, knowing how it grieves The Holy Spirit! Never do they take the name of Yeshua, or even Buddha, or Allah in vain. Only Jesus or Jesus Christ!
Christians are being imprisoned and put to death, all over the world, almost daily for their belief in The LORD Jesus Christ, as in days of old!
“Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 15:26 KJV
The name of Jesus still saves; gives life, delivers the captured, and inspires those who love Him to lay down their lives for Him!
Our "social" church is fearful of offending anyone and willing to compromise anything to be politically correct, even to the point of rewriting The Word of God.
This Jesus provides super-grace and all go to heaven! If the word "repent" is mentioned accusations fly of "judging!" No mercy, grace or love is evident or bestowed on those who oppose their "all inclusive" doctrine. Jesus "did it all", "paid it all", so "all will be saved" no matter what the Scriptures say!
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”2 Timothy 3:16 KJV
Jesus admonishes: “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37 KJV
Jesus again: “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:4-7 KJV
These last days, confusion will grow as most do not know God's Word! They will be unable to discern Truth! What sounds right is not necessarily Truth, so they will be deceived.
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13 KJV
“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” Mark 13:22 KJV
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 KJV
The road that leads to the narrow gate grows more narrow the farther down it you go!
Many believers feed from a gospel of mixture that dilutes the power of the Word! They sample a bit from this ministry and a little from that, like a salad bar picking what they like the best, very seldom reading the whole Word, because it makes them feel good! However, like the ingredients in rat poison; the small percent of poison renders the whole bait as poison! Such are half-truths twisting The Word Of God to render it ineffective! The enemy began in the garden and has not stopped. His intent to kill, steal (from) and destroy the ones God loves so much; for which He sent His Son to die!
Our defense is knowing and following Jesus Christ; standing on His Word; believing when everyone and everything tells us different!
We are told to be Holy! We are to told to die daily! We are told to Overcome! The Word is our Instruction Manual written by our Maker and in it He tells us how to live a victorious life!
Victory in Jesus!
I have first hand knowledge, through personal experience, of how obedience to God's Word and submission to His authority can change a life! When I reached the end of myself, having tried everything the world and religion offered, I cried out to Jesus and He heard me and lifted me out of the pit and put my feet on solid ground! He's my Rock; He IS my Savior! Through the power of forgiveness, repentance and confession of my sins, I walk in healing and wholeness. (Matthew 6:14, Matthew 4:17, James 5:16)
There is only one Jesus!
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5 KJV
Do not accept a counterfeit!
