When we are faced with trials, tests, and storms we can fight them in the flesh or we can battle them in the spirit!
When we come out on the other side we respond in the manner we chose!
When we have done it in our own might, we have relief, however our pride is evident, and we boast in our success!
When we battle in the spirit, we realize that the battle was The LORD's and He gets all the glory!
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Ephesians 6:10 KJV
“Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” James 4:5-6 KJV
When you boast of how strong you are because of what you have come through, you are stealing God's glory! And you will notice, the next storm is around the corner, most often in greater intensity! Storms are meant to bring you to the end of yourself and bring you to God! We are to die to self daily, not become stronger!
What sounds "right" isn't right, necessarily! What sounds good, these days is often a trap, the enemy will use to start you down the wrong path! If it makes you feel good and pats you on the back, then examine your heart! If you can do it on your own, then you don't need God, and then you are making yourself a god! That's what got the devil thrown out of heaven.
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:10 KJV
If you have stolen God's glory, repent! Give it all to Him!
“To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:11 KJV
